Rebels for Space Opera

A while back I ordered a squad of female figures from Anvil Industries. One of them is now painted

Armed with an assault carbine and light armoured jacket and a helmet, she is checking out a storage facility.

Later she is checking out more containers in a corridor.

Derek - Mall Ninja*

There are a couple of definitions of a "Mall Ninja", one of which is wannabe with more money than sense.

Derek certainly fits that definition, he also makes Alice look like a sceptic.

His "sporting" rifle has an expensive 'scope and a highly illegal suppressor.

Unfortunately I have only spotted the beard in these photographs, so will need to go back and paint it.

The Shed

Many years ago I bought a 4Ground large shed. It spent a long time in my MDF pile. I then built it, but decided it needed to be clad in corrugated iron (Slaters embossed plastikard).

The line of bolts are actually drilled into the frame of the building.

A couple of Corporation Exploration Team members investigate.
A rubbish bag, an old mattress and a tyre adorn the roof.

Zona Alfa Zombies

One of the Zone Hostiles encountered are "Zombies", it is not clear if they are flesh (or brain) eating corpses or deranged survivors transformed by The Event.

Vladimir chooses the wrong moment to change magazines while investigating a dacha.

Not sure what happened to Vladimir, but they are coming this way!

Studio Miniatures released a box set of plastic multi-part, multi-pose zombies  a number of years ago. There are sprue shots and a review here

I found one of the sprues (I had used one of the figures) so built three of them for Zona Alfa. Unlike previous builds, I left them on their integral bases and blended it onto a Renedra 25mm diameter base with Milliput.
Here are the three of them.

Now to build a lot more (though this Corporation Exploration Team will not be happy).

Animated Statue

Many years ago, I bought a Crooked Dice Animated Statue. It has taken a while to to get to this state.

The figure is on a small pedestal, and I removed the tab (for the slotta base) and fitted it to a Renedra 30mm round base.

The figure and base were undercoated with Plasticote Rust effect spray paint, followed by Halford Grey and a dusting of Citadel Corax White.

I suspect this is going to turn up in Frostgrave at some time.

Law Enforcement Officers

First post of the year, and some Law Enforcement Officers.

These are built with Empress US02 US Army bodies and Empress Russian RUS13 heads with visors.

The RUS13 heads represent Russian Special Forces helmets with ballistic armoured visors with view slits. As I was after slightly less armoured visors, I filed off the view slit, smoothing it down to represent  a clear visor.

He has both squad and higher level radios.

Officer with M4.

This is the guy who for some reason is a bit camera shy, this is possibly due to being armed with an FN Minimi LMG.
