Dead Trees part one

Crooked Dice Dead Forest.
Another Products for Wargamers MDF base.
The trunks were painted with Citadel Mechanicum Standard Grey. The exposed inner wood was painted with Army Painter Skeleton Bone. This was then dry brushed with Citadel Mechanicum Standard Grey followed by a wash of Citadel Nuln Oil.

Oil Barrels

Another piece of terrain. A barrier made from Debris of War barrels.
Based on another Products for Wargamers MDF base.
Again undercoated with Citadel Chaos Black followed by Citadel Death Guard Green.

The Container

Containers are everywhere. Some of them are very large, 45 feet long. Others are as small as 10 foot long.

This is one of the smaller ones, from Crooked Dice.
It is on an MDF base  from Products for Warmers.
It was undercoated with Citadel Chaos Black followed by Citadel Death Guard Green.
The numbers and icon are from the Rubicon T34 decal set.

Dacha

A Dacha is a rural second home common in Russian or Soviet sphere countries.

Originally a plot of land given by the Tzar to nobles, later by the government to citizens. It has a similarity to the allotment, originally being an area where the citizen could grow their own food.

The building regulations varied over time, but often limited the time of occupation, availability of heating, size etc.

This one has no chimney and the land is rather overgrown.

The Man In the Lead Lined Suit

"So you want to know about Chelovek v svintsovom kostyume? He is a rumour, a tale to tell the novobrantsy to keep them in line."
"Some say he is a scientist who got to close to an anomaly and was changed, others say he is the result of secret experiments and is looking for a cure. Others say he is a Cosmonaut exposed to radiation whose capsule crashed into the Zone."
"He is said to wander the Zone, glowing with an unearthly light."
"All say that anyone who sees him dies horribly, his touch is instant death."
"If no one ever sees him and lives to tell the tale, where do the stories come from"
The Man in the Lead Lined Suit, by Crooked Dice.
The eerie glow is Citadel Aethermatic Blue. It is not quite actinic enough for Cherenkov Radiation, which was the look I was going for.

GDW boxes from the 'eighties

Games Designer's Workshop was one of the earliest and most influential role-playing games companies in the 'eighties and 'nineties.

Grenadier produced a licensed range of 25mm figures for the Traveller far future role playing game.

Here are some of the Imperial Marines (and a mercenary from the third box which I managed not to photograph).
Unfortunately the contents have become mixed up (with other storage as well).

PT-76 Soviet Amphibious Light tank

The PT-76 was a Soviet designed amphibious reconnaissance tank. Introduced in the 1950s, it was originally the standard reconnaissance tank for Soviet and Warsaw Pact forces. It was widely exported, including to North Vietnam.

Armed with a 76mm D-56T rifled tank gun and a coaxial 7.62mm SGMT machine gun.
There is a PT-76 at the IWM Duxford, just outside the Land Warfare hall.

It certainly looks like it is in working order.
