Stumpy Shrieker from Crooked Dice

Crooked Dice released a number of fungous based Dungeon Monsters a while back. Amongst the collection were Shriekers. Here is a painted Stumpy Shrieker.

The "figure" is based on a 25mm Renedra round base.
The puddle base was smoothed in using Milliput.
Woodland Scenics fine cinder ballast was applied over PVA as base ground cover.
The whole thing was undercoated with Citadel Chaos Black.
The ground was painted with Vallejo Flat Earth.
The body was painted with Citadel Rakarth Flesh.
The stem was washed with Citadel Agrax Earh Shade.
The cap, gills and band were washed with Citadel Druichi Purple.
The body and cap were drybrushed with Citadel Terminatus Stone.
I have another two to base and paint. Not sure what I am going to use them for.

Crooked Dice Treant

Amongst the many items I bought from Crooked Dice at SELWG was one of their Treant figures.

As supplied and on a Renedra round 50mm base, it stands about 75mm tall, however as this will probably be part of a unit of three, I wanted to add some difference between the figures.

Cunningly, I also had the Dead Forest set. For this figure, I added one of the loose branches into a hole drilled into the left shoulder/back of the figure, then blended it in with some Milliput. I also turned the head slightly further than the designer intended with some judicious filing and further Milliput.

This will function as a large creature for one of my Elf or Elf aligned armies
The figure was undercoated with Citadel Chaos Black. It was then given a further coat of Vallejo Black applied with a large brush and a touch of water to ensure it was entirely black.

Next a mixture of Citadel Dryad Bark and Vallejo Black was brushed over it.
This was followed by heavy dry brush of a mixture of Citadel Dryad Bark and Vallejo Black Grey.
Another dry brush with the Citadel Dryad Bark lightened with Vallejo London Grey.
Finally, dry brushing with Citadel Terminatus Stone was followed by a wash with Citadel Agrax Earthshade.
The Bracket Fungus on the right leg was painted with Citadel Rakash Flesh.
The eyes were first painted Humbrol acrylic white followed by Citadel Hexwraith Flame for the glowing green look.
Unlike most of my Oathmark figures, this has been based with slightly more temperate locations in mind. The base was painted with Humbrol Acrylic 29 Dark Earth and dry brushed with Citadel Terminatus Stone. Various Gamer's Grass tufts were added.
