Oathmark Goblin Spellcaster (work in progress)

For my Goblin Militia army I decided that to reduce the number of figures I would need to build (let alone paint) I would have a core of slightly better troops.

There is the Town Guard comprising a Captain, two ranks of Goblin Spears, two ranks of Goblin Archers and a Level one Spellcaster.

The Goblin Slave sprue includes a Goblin without armour who I thought would be suitable as the body of the Spellcaster. The head is one of the hooded ones from the same set. The arms are from the Frostgrave Cultist sprue.

The backpack is from the Frostgrave Soldiers II, the accessories from the Frostgrave Wizards II sprue.

Frostgrave Cultist Sprue

Someone on Lead Adventure Forum had asked about use of the Frostgrave Cultist figures as undead.

Here are the sprues.

Joriff the Necromancer

So, having started my Undead army, I needed a Necromancer to command it.

In Oathmark, skeleton forces need a Spellcaster on the table to maintain them. At the moment, I am building small forces, so a low power necromancer will fit the bill (and not be too heavy on points).

Joriff is built using the Frostgrave Cultist sprue plus some details from the Wizards sprue (the skull for instance).

The figure was undercoated with Citadel Chaos Black followed by Army painter Chaos Red. The hood was painted with Citadel Screamer Pink, the trousers with Citadel "The Fang" blue/grey, gloves with Citadel Steel Legion Drab. The belt was Citadel Rakash Flesh as are the scrolls.
The skull was painted with Army painter Skeleton Bone, the eye sockets were then painted with Humbrol 34 matt white and then Citadel Hexwraith Flame. The potion bottle was painted again with Humbrol white followed by Citadel Aethermatic Blue in a couple of coats. The chains were painted with Citadel Abaddon black and highlighted with Army Painter Stone Golem. Boots were Citadel Catachan Flesh.

CUT! Will you two on the end stop gossiping!

Frostgrave Cultist Wizard

On the Lead Adventure forum there was a discussion on plastic Frostgrave Wizards (and making them from the existing plastic kits).

This one is built using the Cultist sprue for the body and heads and the arms (and boat hook/two handed weapon) from the Ghost Archipelago Sailors. The Cultists sprue also provided the accessories. The boat hook has two pieces from the knife and fetish component, the knife is attached to the figures front behind the staff. There will be a bit of Greenstuff work to secure it.
