So here is Kassa Okoye "finished".
The figure was undercoated with Citadel Chaos Black spray.
The skin was Vallejo German Camouflage Black Brown, light dry brush with Citadel Terminatus Stone, Citadel Seraphim Sepia and Army Painter Strong Tone washes. Lower lip highlight with Citadel Bugman's Glow.
The dungarees are Vallejo English Uniform, light dry brush with Citadel Terminatus Stone and a Citadel Agrax Earthshade wash.
The tee shirt and bandana are Citadel Mephiston Red, light dry brush with Citadel Terminatus Stone and a wash with Army Painter Red Tone.
The belts are Citadel Mournfang Brown.
The machine gun is Vallejo Black Grey, dry brushed Citadel Mechanicus Standard Grey and Citadel Terminatus Stone. It was washed with Citadel Drakenhof Nightshade (none of your Citadel Nuln Oil, this is precision engineering).
The backpack was Citadel Snot Womble Green, light dry brush with guess what and a Citadel Athonian Camoshade wash.
The power cells, giant light bulbs whatever were painted first with Army Painter Stone Golem, followed by Humbrol Matt White. They were then painted with Citadel Hexwraith Green. If I was to paint them again, I would put a coat of Humbrol Matt Varnish on before the Hexwraith, the white was a bit shiny.
The base was painted with Vallejo Black Grey, dry brushed with Citadel Mechanicus Standard Grey and Citadel Terminatus Stone. It was then washed with Citadel Nuln Oil.
Now sh just needs an army to lead.

Kassa Okoye - Abyssinian/King's Empire Commander for The Other Side - part two
A circle of Slaters Plastikard 7mm Granite Sett embossed plastic was cut using a compass cutter. It is slightly oversized, next time I will try an make it slightly smaller.
There is just enough thickness in the right heel to drill a hole of 1.2mm diameter so the figure can be pinned to the base with some 1.2mm brass rod.
The plan is to add some debris after finishing the painting.

Kassa Okoye - Abyssinian/King's Empire Commander for The Other Side
Kassa Okoye is a dual allegiance Commander for the new Wyrd Miniatures war-game The Other Side. An engineer by training, she is best suited to forces that have a compliment of the heavy walkers known as Titans.
This is the first The Other Side miniature I have bought. It comes in a small standard box, with the miniature, base and cards in a two part plastic carrier. There is a lot of empty space in the box.
The miniature is cast in a PVC type plastic, and is assembled but not based (of more anon).
She is armed with a large machine gun and various tools (including a nasty pair of cutters/pliers in her right hand).
This figure is going to be difficult to pin to the base, only the right foot is flat to the floor and the heel is quite small.
The figure is noticeably taller than general Malifaux figures, here is a based Convict Gunslinger.
Here is the base (left hand side) and a Freikorp (righthand side).
The bases are larger than the normal Malifaux ones, the inset part will take half of a 32mm base.
I have not decided how I am going to base these figures, rural or urban.
It is probably going to need an insert, but I am not sure about using Slater's Plastikard or plain.
