Crooked Dice Treasure Piles - part two

Back in October 2021 I bought the Treasure Pile objective tokens (now called Fantasy Objective Tokens) set from Crooked Dice. I based them on Renedra 25mm circular bases.
And there they remained, undercoated but unfinished.
Starting the New year, I set about painting one of them (I actually started on a number of them, but only this one is finished).
it is a broken shallow pottery dish with a small pile of coins on top.
The dish is Citadel Mounfang Brown, The edges are highlighted with Citadel Golfag Brown (it is a dry brush paint but it was applied as a edging paint). The coins were first painted with Vallejo Brass, then Vallejo Gold.
The dish was washed with Citadel Agrax Earthshade.
This is number Three in the set. I will add a number on the underside later.

Debris of War Command Tent

At SELWG I bought a Command Tent from Debris of War. It is on a Products For Wargamers small terrain base.

After chamfering the edges of the base, the tent was held in place while holes were drilled in from the bottom through the base into the tent. These holes were then used to pin the tent to the base, the whole lot being glued together with superglue. Woodland Scenics fine cinder ballast was applied with PVA glue on the ground surface.

The underside of the base and the top surface were undercoated with Halfords Grey primer. The top was painted with Colour Forge Trench Brown. The ground surface was then given a coat of Humbrol Dark Earth 29.
The pegs were painted with Army Painter Skeleton Bone, then dry brushed with Citadel Tyrant Bone.
The ties were painted with Citadel Karak Stone. The whole thing was washed with Citadel Agrax Earthshade.

It is going to be used as a command tent for A War Transformed, however it is suitably generic and can be used in a number of periods.

Scotia-Grendel Ruined Greek temple

Another item I bought at SELWG 2022.

The kit comprised a circular base, five full height pillars, one half heigh pillar and three cap stones.
The pillars are plain.
Two of the pillars were pinned by drilling through from underneath, the other four were just glued in place. A circular infilled was cut to fit the inside.
Milliput was used to fair in the base of the pillars and to add some rocks and additional pieces of masonry. The ground was covered in a mixture of Woodland Scenics fine Cinder Ballast and some generic granite ballast.
The underside was sprayed with Citadel Mechanicum Standard Grey (I had run out of Halfors Grey Primer) The visible surface was sprayed with Citadel Zandri Dust, with a Zenithal spray of Humbrol Desert Tan.
It was then extensively dry brushed with Citadel Tyrant Skull followed by Citadel Terminatus Stone.
Once fully dry it was shaded with Citadel Agrax Earthshade. Another dry brush with Citadel Terminatus Stone brought up the detail.
Gamers Grass 6mm Dense Beige Tufts provided some plant life on the ground and a mixture of Woodland Scenics fine and coarse Burnt Grass turf created the greenery growing on the stones.

Stone Axe Miniatures (Irongate Scenery) Woolly Rhinos painted

These resin figures were bought at SELWG 2022 at the Irongate Scenery stand.

I thought they would make great Indrik for Oathmark.

Rocks were added using Milliput over a plastic rod anchor.
The bases then covered with a mixture of Woodland Scenics fine Cinder Ballast and some generic granite ballast.
The whole thing was undercoated with Citadel Corax White spray. The bases were painted with Vallejo Black (slightly thinned).
The horns and toenails were painted with Army Painter Skeleton Bone. The root of the horns and the eyes were painted with Army Painter Oak Brown. A mixture of Skeleton Bone and Oak Brown was used to shade the horns and blend in the horn root. The inner ears, the nostrils and the lips were painted with a mix of Army painter Barbarian Flesh and Oak Brown.
The horns were then dry brushed with Citadel Terminatus Stone.

The underside, the feet and around the tail were shaded with Citadel Agrax Earthshade, as was the horns and the lips. The body was shaded with Citadel Nuln Oil shade.
Gamers Grass 5mm Winter Tufts were placed after the base had been dry brushed with Citadel Terminatus Stone.

Stone Axe Miniatures (Irongate Scenery) Woolly Rhinos

At SELWG 2022 I bought two packs of Wooly Rhinos from the Irongate Scenery stand.
Each pack contains two adult rhinos and a calf.

There is almost no flash, though there are a few areas that could have done with some filling (I only noticed after they were painted). The feet and belly of the adults needed to be lightly filed with a large file to get them fully flat on the base.

Terrain Tiles Board Set

One of the items I picked up was an MDF board set. Containing nine 300mm x 300mm flat boards plus connectors to build a 900mm x 900mm board.

This is part of a range of a range of board pieces.

Unlike many MDF kits, this kit comes with a physical set of instructions.
These are the four connectors
Two pieces make the top surface of each board piece.
These are the eight pieces that make up the sub-frame beneath the two surface boards.
These are the keys that bind the boards together on the outside.
The pieces to make one board laid out. Part 1A is the base piece and all the others slot into it or each other.
This is shown neatly in the instructions.
Dry fit of the frame pieces (from the top, which will be covered by the surface panels).
Assembled.

Next the surface cover needs to be added.
