SELWG Show - Crystal Palace 21 October 2018

So for the first time since 2006, I visited the South East London Wargames Group show at Crystal Palace. Network Rail had their train set in bits so the journey included a magical mystery bus tour.

Held in the large sports hall and adjacent level, it is a lot roomier than some of the other shows I visit.
Crooked Dice provided all the stuff I forgot at Colours (and in the case of the Interceptor, another one).

Mantic had the Walking Dead Wave 5 boosters, but due to a loading issue, no Wave 5 expansion - I ordered one and the "Here's Negan" stand alone board game.

Having bought a telephone box from Blotz at Colours, I bought a number of their crashed ship scenery.

Sarissa had a stand there and I added some more buildings for my forthcoming The Walking Dead: All Out War solo campaigns.

As has become apparent in recent years, a number of old faces are no longer attending the smaller shows, hopefully that is something that will be reversed.

With the wonderful weather, and having finished in the show I decided to go an revisit the famous dinosaurs in the park.
The "Dinosaur Doctors" were out in force working on the historic grade one listed Victorian statues.

Rubicon Citroen 11CV car

The Rubicon Citroen 11CV is a 1/56 scale multipart kit. It is supplied in a robust cardboard box.

The vehicle is a staple for film and television programs based in occupied Europe (my most recent sightings have been in the Belgian series 'Salamander' and the Spanish series 'El Ministerio del Tiempo')
The parts are cleanly cast with under frame detail (including the exhaust) and require minimal clean up. I washed them with kitchen scouring cream just because that is how I clean all resin kits.

Unlike many resin kits, it is supplied with a full instruction sheet with some background information and a decal sheet (containing both French and German registrations).
It has two sets of head lamps, the original civilian type and a set of black out style lights for military users. I decided to use the civilian lights.
Marshall Zhukov (Rubicon figure) for scale.
Perry Miniatures Kubelwagen for scale.
The Perry Miniatures Kubelwagen is notably smaller than the Bolt Action one..

Salute 2018 - Rubicon Models part two

Also at Salute I bought the Sherman I, Sherman I Hybrid, Sherman III and the 15cwt CMP truck.
Not sure in what order I will start building them.

Salute 2018 - Rubicon Models part one

Rubicon Models had a stand at Salute this year.

They had their new Resin vehicles, their new figure blisters and prototypes of forthcoming kits.

The Citroen 11CV is a multipart kit with under frame detail and a French decal sheet.
Components.
They also had the vehicles they have designed and manufactured for Heer46. This includes the Waffentrager tank destroyer.
The components are finely cast, looking almost like plastic injection mouldings.
There is chassis detail.
And the hull is hollow, with a bayonet fitting for the turret.

They also had their personalities blisters.
The figures looked tiny, but actually they are not as small as they appear,  William Killian for scale.
As you can see, they are of a similar size to my standard figure scale, but are of a slighter stature.
They also had the new Jeep trailer, not sure what I am going to use it for yet.
The personalities sets come with the new Rubicon bases.
