Wargames Atlantic Dark Ages Shields pack

 Wargames Atlantic released a pack of 28mm scale Dark Ages Shields

Each sprue contains 21 shields.

These are probably going to equip a number of Oathmark Human Infantry with a common but different shield to those supplied with the Oathmark humans.

Wiglaf Miniatures Warlord

 Because I need another range and scale of figures like I need my head ventilated, may I present the first Wiglaf Miniatures 18mm 7th Century Anglo-Saxons. I picked them up from North Star (Warlord and Followers 1).

The figure was cleanly cast with some slight mould marks that were easily removed with the edge of a half round file. It is based on a Renedra 20mm round base. The puddle base was blended in with milliput.

The cloak, shield and crest are Citadel Mephiston Red. The wolfskin was Vallejo London Grey, All metal parts (including the mail) was Vallejo Black Grey. Weapon edges and metal highlighting was Vallejo London Grey.

Belt, Seax scabbard and shield handle was Citadel Mournfang Brown. The boots were Citadel Catachan Flesh. Leggings, such and sleeves were Citadel Steel Legion Drab.

Now to paint the rest of them and the Copplestone Casting "Picts".

Gripping Beast Dark Age Welsh

 Gripping Beast released a box set of multi-part, multi-pose Dark Age Welsh in 2021.

The box contains five identical sprues, each of which builds five light infantry armed with spears with optional axes, sword or two handed spear.

Most of the heads are bare (mainly pudding basin haircuts), though there is one wearing a helmet.

They match nicely with the Oathmark Human Infantry. 

The bodies have built in necks with a matching socket in the base of the head, so are not compatible with Frostgrave, Oathmark, Fireforge or Anvil heads without surgery.

At least one of them is going to end up converted for Stargrave/Five Parsecs.

Roundhouse - Chiltern Open Air Museum

 The Chiltern Open Air Museum contains a collection of local buildings rescued from the Chiltern area, and rebuilt on the museum site.

There are a few "new-build" buildings, amongst which is an Iron Age Roundhouse.

This will be used as inspiration for a Debris of War Small Roundhouse model.
