Roundhouse - Chiltern Open Air Museum

 The Chiltern Open Air Museum contains a collection of local buildings rescued from the Chiltern area, and rebuilt on the museum site.

There are a few "new-build" buildings, amongst which is an Iron Age Roundhouse.

This will be used as inspiration for a Debris of War Small Roundhouse model.

Frostgrave Barbarians II

 North Star have recently released the Barbarians II box set for Frostgrave.

This Multi-part, Multi-pose set contains four sprues, each sprue building five figures.

Thankfully not wearing the chainmail bikini of yore, they are generally well dressed with a fur cape.

 One of them is slightly over animated for my taste, especially if you arguing to be using them to bulk out a Barbarian army for Oathmark.

There are also some rather outlandish heads and helmets.

One of the great features of the Frostgrave figures is that you can swap parts with other Frostgrave figures and the Stargrave figures.

This figure is the over animated body with two "push" swords and one of the horned heads from the Stargrave Mercenaries II set.

"I'll be back!" Terminator: Genisys revisited

 Way back in 2015 I bought the Terminator:Genisys game.

The human opposition forces were rather poor snap together figures and were rather uninspiring.

The terminators on the otherhand were rather nice, each sprue building two standing terminators and a crawling one.

They went together nicely and were quickly painted up.

I have one of the box sets still to assemble, another eight Terminators.

There were also resin (?) and metal figures.

Strangely no one seemed to have compared the scales, a number of them were larger than the plastic infantry, and larger than usual for "28mm". Here compared with a Wargames Factory male survivor.

TT Combat Slum Blocks

 At Salute 2021 I bought the TTCombat Slum Blocks building kit.

The kit builds five small buildings, that also stack.

The set comprises three laser cut sheets of MDF.

A set of walls.

Walls and a roof.

Roofs and accessories.

This is the first assembled building.

The white plastic "skirting boards" cover the indentations that are part of the stacking system. The walls are going to be covered with a skin of Milliput for a concrete affect.

William Killian and a Stargrave zombie for scale.

Spiral Arm Studios building accessory sprue provides an AirCon unit and a door.

Plus a ladder and a ventilator.

The roof has a panel of Slaters anti-skid textured plastic.

Stargrave Mercenaries II

 North Star have just released a second figure set entitled Mercenaries II, comprising four sprues that make five figures each.

The figures are females in partial armour (for female fully armoured Troopes, you are expected to use the original Troopers box set - which contains female heads).

I will do a weapon breakdown later.

Terrain Tiles Board Set

 One of the items I picked up was an MDF board set. Containing nine 300mm x 300mm flat boards plus connectors to build a 900mm x 900mm board.

This is part of a range of a range of board pieces.

Unlike many MDF kits, this kit comes with a physical set of instructions.

These are the four connectors

Two pieces make the top surface of each board piece.

These are the eight pieces that make up the sub-frame beneath the two surface boards.

These are the keys that bind the boards together on the outside.

The pieces to make one board laid out. Part 1A is the base piece and all the others slot into it or each other.

This is shown neatly in the instructions.

Dry fit of the frame pieces (from the top, which will be covered by the surface panels).

Assembled.

Next the surface cover needs to be added.

 So once again SELWG was in the Lee Valley

Though a number of the big names were absent, I managed to find plenty to look at (and buy).
