Stargrave Weapons

Weapons in Stargrave

In Stargrave, weapons are defined by their roles rather than in intricate detail.

So a Carbine is defined as a long arm (takes two slots) that does standard damage over  normal combat ranges.

The implementation may vary (chemically propelled slug, laser, plasma, sound wave, magic) but its operation, range and damage remains the same.

Of course, this is just the over-the-counter versions. There are advanced weapons to be found, but only as loot.

The general ranged weapon categories in the main rulebook are:

  • Pistol - short range, normal damage
  • Carbine - long range, normal damage
  • Rapid Fire - long range, two targets, potentially more damage, cumbersome
  • Shotgun - intermediate range, more damage
  • Grenade Launcher - medium range, not as accurate, burst template, scatters
  • Flame thrower - template, ignores non enclosed armour, cumbersome

There are weapons on the sprue which do not quite match these categories, probably for future supplements (and use in other games).

Here are my interpretations of the weapons on the three Stargrave sprues. All descriptions are left to right, top to bottom.
