Warbases have recently introduced their new Space Corridor range. This is a range of simple modular MDF corridor sections that can be assembled in many different arrangements to make up spaceships and planetary bases.
At Colours I bought one of their dead end corridor sections to see how they go together.
The kit is supplied in a plastic bag, but with no instructions. Here are the bits.
I started by building up three sub-assemblies (the three walls). As you can see, the two side wall panels are identical, the how they are attached to the supports determine which is left and which is right
The right hand wall was glued in place first. The end wall then slots into place followed by the left wall.
As you can see, the corridor is roomy enough for figures on 25mm bases, and their is sufficient space to put two figures on 32mm bases side by side. You probably could not get a dreadnought in their, but a Warlord Games M5 Jackal walker fitted both width and height wise (though it might have issues with doors).
William Killian inspects the corridor end.
View from above. As you can see, there is room for the figures and accessing them from above.
Not quite sure what the holes on the outside of the columns are for, but they do give it a nice stage set look.
Once the glue had dried, I gave the corridor section a good coat with Halfords grey spray primer. I then misted some Halfords black spray primer in corners, on the bottom of the walls on the outside and on to the floor. This was followed with some Citadel Corax white spray. The outside was given a further coat of Halfords grey primer.
A Soul Drinker Space Marine defends the corridor.
Certainly an interesting idea, I will be picking up a few more later in the year.
They could do with adding some rooms and a starter set.

Blast From the Past
While searching for some Space marine Sprue to start on a Lead Legion squad, I found an almost intact RTB01 sprue.
Now it is later issue (probably the same mould but there is some minor mould misalignment). The key thing is that the original plastic was dark blue, I should still have some depopulated sprues somewhere).
This will eventually be used to provide heads for my Ultramarines.

Alpha Legion Sniper
So continuing with the Alpha Legion theme, they are experts at intervention and underhanded tactics.
Sometimes direct pinpoint action is required, so there is a need for snipers.
Now there is no "sniper" option on any army list that covers Alpha Legion, however there is no kill better than overkill, so I chose the longest range weapon available on my lists - the Las Cannon.
Again I used the normal Space Marine kits - this time the heavy weapons one and the kneeling legs.
Now for "Line" marines I have used a combination of Chaos and normal marine parts avoiding anything too chaotic. Now the sniper is going to be an Elite choice so I used just normal marine parts.
The kneeling pose suits the sniper concept.
The only problem is the power cable between the cannon and the backpack, as you can see here it would pass through the knee, so this figure is awaiting my attempting to connect the two.

Chaos Reigns (at least on the workbench...)
While I was shuffling round the contents of the figure boxes I came across a few Chaos Marines that are still work in progress.

A Nurgle Terminator Champion (based on a Womblehammer Nurgle character).
I might get round to finishing them sometime.

Work In Glacial Progress
Actually, glaciers are a bit hasty...
So, to show that it takes me awhile to complete anything, here is my Vanilla Womble army.
The second row are built from Wombles from the Third Edition 40K box (with additional RTB-01 heads - my Vanilla Wombles all have Womble - Mk6 - helmets).
The top five on the left are Forgeworld Mk6 and the two bottom right are converted RTB-01 (RTB-01 torsos on the plastic legs of the kits with the fixed helmets that came out after RTB-01 but before third edition).
Not shown are the terminators, I got some of them free when Games Workshop opened their hundredth shop and had a lot of special offers and giveaways. Those were the days...
The others are from second edition Space Hulk and the Fifth Edition 40K box.
