Post War Bolt Action Miniatures
As mentioned last year, I bought a Bolt Action US Army sprue at Warfare last year.
The sprue contained parts for five infantry but no weapons. To build a fire team of US supplied troops, I used the weapons sprue from a Wargames Factory (now available as part of the Warlord Games Project Z range) Male survivors set.
Some modification to the right hands (to grip the pistol grip of the M16) and the left hand (to grip the fore grip) was required.
The uniform is Citadel Death World Forest.
Webbing and pouches are Citadel Karak Stone.
Helmets are Vallejo US Olive Drab.
Boots and water bottles are Vallejo Leather Brown.
Furniture on the gun is Vallejo Black Grey.
Pistol holster is Citadel Mournfang brown.
Once base painted, they were dry brushed with Citadel Terminatus Stone.
Citadel Athonian Camoshade was used over the green parts and the helmet.
Citadel Agrax Earthshade was applied to the webbing, pouches, holster, boots and water bottle.
The hands and faces were base painted with Vallejo Panzer Aces flesh base. Heavy shading used Citadel Mournfang Brown with a final shade using Citadel Reikland Flesh Shade.
Oops, seems to have picked up some grass.
Fire team in action.
Now I just need the new Rubicon M4A3E8 kit to provide them with some support.
Of course some opposition is also required.

Post War Bolt Action miniatures
Having bought a number of the Wargames Factory (and subsequently Warlord Games Project Z) survivor plastic kits, I have a large number of 28mm scale modern fire arms.
What I was looking for was some post World War miniatures for a skirmish game between American and Soviet proxies.
At Warfare Warlord Ganmes was selling individual plastic sprues, including World War 2 American and Soviet sprues. I thought that would be an ideal opportunity to try combining the Bolt Action bodies and the Project Z weapons.
These are the first two figures, a Soviet supplied soldier with an AK47 and a US supplied soldier with an M16.
The guns suffer from being rather large compared to the figures. Some filling will need to be added to the join.
The figures are also slightly shorter if a lot chunkier than Crooked Dice figures.
They look okay, so I am going to build the remaining figures up.

Walking Dead: All Out War game
At Warfare I bought the new Walking Dead: All Out War game by Mantic.
The box set contains six Survivors and twelve Walkers.
The survivors are slightly larger than my 28mm standard, below are (left to right) Rick Grimes, William Killan and a Project Z zombie.
There will be a review of the game once I have had a chance to read the rules more thoroughly. What I did find interesting is that the game "board" is twenty inches by twenty inches, which does make building themed boards a lot easier.

Warlord Games Project Z - Male Zombies first figure
Here is the first of the new male zombies from the Warlord Games Project Z game.
Hospitals would be the first flash point of the Zombie Apocalypse, and many of the first zombies would be medical personnel.
Still wearing his scrubs and his disposable shoe covers this zombie is a major health hazard.
