Wargames Atlantic Damned Mauler ATV

 Wargames Atlantic have just released their first vehicle, an ATV for their interpretation of Chaos Infantry.

The kit comprises three sprues and has both an APC and a load carrier variant.

Boxer IFV(W)

 Another purchase from Spectre at Salute was their 28mm model of the Boxer IFV(W).

It is certainly an imposing bit of kit.

"Only The End of the World Again - Again - Again" - GD Ajax IFV

Disaster Area is a plutonium rock band generally regarded as not only the loudest rock band in the Galaxy, but also the loudest noise of any kind at all.

So if they had an Armoured Reconnaissance Vehicle, it would have to be a General Dynamics Ajax.

Spectre released a 28mm (1/50) scale model at Salute 2026.

It is a 3D printed kit

Some of the supports have not been removed, but nothing a few moments with a scalpel will not fix.

It is rather imposing

Size comparison with an Empress 1/50 scale Warrior IFV.

Except the Warrior carries an infantry squad and the Ajax replaces the CVRT Scimitar.

I should have compared it with that and a Spartan (which is being replaced with the Ares variant).

Blotz River Barge

 Blotz do a River Barge, which is a suitable size to take one unit of Oathmark infantry, here shown with a 5x4 sabot stand of Human Archers.

As can be seen, the kit is made from MDF.

The kit contains two full size MDF panels and a smaller panel.

There are two dowels, one foe a mast, the other for a gaff, a boom or a crosspiece depending upon the period being modelled. There are fittings for a boom or a cross piece.

Assembly is simple, though it is worth checking the online instructions.

The MDF construction is very obvious with gaps between the panels.

Under Oathmark rules, this would be classified as a small ship, capable of carrying one full size (20 figure) unit. The foredeck is quite spacious and I would be tempted to add a light artillery piece (and crew) with the additional two ship crew to upgrade it to a large ship.

It will happily take a Renedra 5x4 rank sabot base.

Oshiro Models SFV05 / Command hover vehicle

 At Salute 2023 I bought a SFV05 / Command hover vehicle from Oshiro Model terrain.

It is a simple resin kit and comes complete with a "hover" stand, two discs of clear acrylic (top right in photograph).

The fit of the top and bottom parts of the hull was okay, improved by some gentle sanding using sand paper on a glass plate.

In the above photograph the hover stand still has its white protective cover on.

The two halves of the hull were glued with two part epoxy, this gave time to adjust the position, though I had to file/sand some epoxy where it had squeezed out.

The model was undercoated with Citadel Chaos Black spray all over.

Citadel Mechanicum Standard Grey was then sprayed over, leaving some of the Chaos Black as shadow.

Citadel Corax White was the sprayed as a sort of Zenithal highlight.

Oops, wonky turret. T added an aerial using brass rod and plastruct tubing.

A drip that needs tidying.

Blotz Jolly Boat

 The Blotz Jolly Boat is an laser cut MDF model of a Jolly Boat, a type of small boat often used to ferry crews and passengers between ships or to shore.

The kit comprises two small panels.

Three layers on top of a base plate comprise the hull, here stacked one on top of each other.

The boat will take nine figures based on 25mm diameter bases.

This is the assembled model.

The model was undercoated with Halfors grey spray primer. The visible surface was then sprayed with Army Painter Leather brown. The deck was painted with Vallejo Old Wood and the keel, inner frames, tiller and rudder with Army Painter Oak Brown.  

The rowlocks were painted with Vallejo Black. The whole boat was dry brushed with Citadel Terminatus Stone. The boat was washed with Citadel Seraphim Shade.

As is shown here, the boat will only take nine figures, which is a bit unfortunate as it will not officially take a two ranks for Oathmark.
