Mindless Zombie for Malifaux.

As I have run out of spray primer, I am looking at a number (a very large number) of premiered but unfinished figures.

One set I have is the Malifaux Mindless Zombies.

So here is the first one. Or more accurately, the first half of one.
No idea what trauma has shattered this reanimated corpse (though my money is on the Riot Breaker.
The skin tone is Citadel Rakash Flesh with a Citadel Agrax Earthshade wash. The inside of the mouth is Citadel Screamer Pink with a Drakenhof Nightshade wash.
The trailing entrails are Screamer Pink, dry brushed with Citadel Terminatus Stone then a wash of Drakenhof Nightshade. The blood trail is made by mixing a small quantity of Screamer Pink mixed with Army Painter Red Shade making a translucent paint with a small amount of pigment

Now on to a complete zombie...

Graveyard Spirit - Malifaux

On Malifaux, the dead are not unquiet, they are damn rowdy!
The Graveyard Spirit is a single sprue miniature and comes with a 30mm base and the relevant second edition card.
As you can see, a simple kit. There is a small release mark on the base and only minor mould lines.
The back "plate" does need some blending in, especially if you are going to use a wash technique later on.

I sprayed the figure with Humbrol Matt White spray. The base was painted with Vallejo Burnt Umber and the edges painted black with Citadel Abaddon Black.

The gravestone was painted with Army Painter Stone Golem, washed with Citadel Nuln Oil.

The figure was washed with Citadel Hexwraith Flame technical paint. It is similar to the washes but with more pigment.
It certainly makes the figure glow, though I had difficulty getting the exposure right.

Slightly darker environment shows the green a lot more.
Currently using this technique on a Games Workshop Banshee - for Frostgrave.

Punk Zombies - Resurrectionist Minion

Punk Zombies (not to be confused with Necropunks) are  a good general purpose minion.
Their main weapon is their katanas.
As this example shows, they are Hard To Wound and Hard To Kill.
This Friekorpsman is in for a difficult fight.

Anna Lovelace - Malifaux Resurrectionist

Anna Lovelace is a Resurrectionist with a (family) connection to the Freikorp.

The Clockwork Dress was first dry brushed with Vallejo Black Grey, then a 50/50 mix of Black Grey and Vallejo London Grey. The ribbons were then painted Citadel Ultramarine Blue.

It was then dry brushed with Vallejo London Grey and any overpaint on the ribbons was repainted with the base colour.

The metal and the ribbons were then washed with Citadel Asurmen Blue wash.

Her hair is Citadel Scorched Brown, the book Citadel Mournfang brown and the bookmark Citadel Mephiston Red. A final dry brush with Citadel Terminatus Stone provided the final highlights.

The hair was given a Citadel Gryphonne Sepia wash. The ribbons were re-washed with the Asurmen Blue, the Bookmark with Citadel Baal Red.

The pages were Citadel Bleached Bone. Citadel Agrax Earhshade toned down the colour and showed off the pages.

Now she just needs some undead to command.

Malifaux Resurrectionist Punk Zombies

The punk zombies from Malifaux are quite delicate figures. One of them has a particularly complicated construction of the head. To make it easier, I assembled the head while one piece (the face and neck) was still attached to the sprue.

Here are the three punk zombies
They are going to be difficult to store wth those delicate weapons.

Work in progress shot of Archie.
Yes, he is holding an ice cream in his tentacle.
