Debris of War Command Tent

At SELWG I bought a Command Tent from Debris of War. It is on a Products For Wargamers small terrain base.

After chamfering the edges of the base, the tent was held in place while holes were drilled in from the bottom through the base into the tent. These holes were then used to pin the tent to the base, the whole lot being glued together with superglue. Woodland Scenics fine cinder ballast was applied with PVA glue on the ground surface.

The underside of the base and the top surface were undercoated with Halfords Grey primer. The top was painted with Colour Forge Trench Brown. The ground surface was then given a coat of Humbrol Dark Earth 29.
The pegs were painted with Army Painter Skeleton Bone, then dry brushed with Citadel Tyrant Bone.
The ties were painted with Citadel Karak Stone. The whole thing was washed with Citadel Agrax Earthshade.

It is going to be used as a command tent for A War Transformed, however it is suitably generic and can be used in a number of periods.

More ruins for Frostgrave

This is another of the Renedra Ruins (frame A). This is based on a Renedra oval base.

As supplied it is slightly longer than the base, so I cut the end of the wall off and rotated it by 90 degrees.
The gaps where the parts were cut off were filled with Milliput.

Platikote Rust Effect spray paint was used as a base coat toggle the surfaces some texture. It was then sprayed with Citadel Chaos Black.
The whole thing was dry brushed with Citadel Mechanicus Grey, followed by Citadel Terminatus Stone.
And here it is with some Gnolls.
The Gnoll Linebreaker skirts the ruin.

More things to trip over...

So having made one base of scenery using the Zinge Industries concrete blocks, I decided I should build a couple more.
The bases are from the Products for Wargamers scatter terrain MDF bases.
The same procedure was followed , though some additional types of Gamers Grass tufts were used.

More Ruins in the Frozen City

So another piece of ruin for the Frozen City.
Like the previous one, this is built from two pieces from the Renedra Ruins Frame C and a Products for Wargamers Scatter Terrain laser cut MDF base.

Two pieces were assembled, and then alternate end blocks were cut out so the two pieces interlocked.

Oil Barrels

Another piece of terrain. A barrier made from Debris of War barrels.
Based on another Products for Wargamers MDF base.
Again undercoated with Citadel Chaos Black followed by Citadel Death Guard Green.

The Container

Containers are everywhere. Some of them are very large, 45 feet long. Others are as small as 10 foot long.

This is one of the smaller ones, from Crooked Dice.
It is on an MDF base  from Products for Warmers.
It was undercoated with Citadel Chaos Black followed by Citadel Death Guard Green.
The numbers and icon are from the Rubicon T34 decal set.

More Scenery For WWX

So a couple of pieces of scenery for Western gaming Wild West Exodus in particular.

The first is a couple of Cacti from the TTCombat Western Accessories pack.
They are on a laser cut Products For Wargamers  Scatter Terrain MDF base (the edges of which were filed to a slope).  Woodland Scenics fine ballast over PVA plus two left over bits of Greenstuff for rocks.
Another piece of terrain, this time a rock cube - natural or manufactured for nefarious motives - you decide.

Concrete Block terrain

At Salute 2018, I bought a set of Cinder Blocks and a set of Engineering Bricks from Zinge Industries. Now I used the engineering bricks on the bases of the Here's Negan! figures (including the Walkers) to tie them all together.

The cinder blocks however are rather large (20x11x10mm) which using my standard modern scale of 1/50 makes them a metre by half metre by half metre.

This is about twice the "standard" size according to Wikipedia. So they would get taken out of their bag, looked at and then returned to the bag.

When Full Metal Jacket was filmed, Stanley Kubrick used areas of London's Docklands for the urban fighting. So there were areas of concrete block work. Empress Miniatures' new Vietnam range prompted me to build some urban and industrial scenery.

At Campaign 2019, Products For Wargamers had MDF Scatter Terrain Bases, I played around with the blocks and bases to find something that worked.

I used a razor saw to cut some of the blocks diagonally, this allowed me to get a bit of height, and "increase" the number of blocks.

Having decided on how the blocks would be arranged, I feathered in the base with the curved side of a half inch half round file.

I drilled three holes in the board and superglued three lengths of 1mm plastic rod as anchor points. Using MIlliput, I then bedded in and mortared the blocks in place.

Ground texture was the traditional Woodland Scenics fine ballast with added larger granite ballast over PVA glue.

The top surfaces was then sprayed with Rustoleum Rust effect spray. The bottom of the base was sprayed with Halfords Grey Primer and the top sprayed with some ancient Citadel Ogre Flesh.

The blocks were then painted with Citadel Mechanicum Grey. This was then dry brushed with a mixture of Citadel Mechanicum Grey and Citadel Terminatus Stone, working up to pure Terminatus Stone. It was then washed with Citadel Nuln Oil.
Tufts were then added to break up the stark shapes and hide any problems.
