The CVRT FV107 Scimitar is by Imprint Moderns (via Empress Miniatures).
It is a fairly modern variation, upgraded with numerous boxes and bins around the hull and turret, but lacking the current shopping trolley look of the latest versions.
Like all the Imprint vehicles, it is simple to assemble with minimal clean up (there was a feed block on the bottom of the rear turret bin that needed filing. The kit has a three part hull (make sure you know exactly where the tracks go as conventional superglue sticks instantly with this material - my T90 looks like it has braked very hard), The turret is in one piece with white metal barrel and hatches (a total of seven parts).
Detail is excellent and robust. It could probably do with some aerials.
Not quite the Action Man(TM) tank of Robot fame, but a suitable support for inch high SpyFi.
Next to build, the Imprint Moderns BMP3 (and I might finish the T90).

Deathguard Lord Part three
As previously mentioned, I make haste glacially slowly.
Following on from Deathguard lord 2, here is the latest update on this long running saga.
Most of the colours are now blocked in.
I have a number of icky wounds, veins and pustules still to detail and I need to do a lot of finishing.
I am still not quite sure how to indicate the unnatural decay of the axe, 'normal' rust techniques just do not feel rght.

Technical
A Technical is normally defined as an improvised fighting vehicle based on a non combat vehicle.
The classic Technical is a Toyota pick up. Imprint Moderns (through Empress Miniatures) do a range of Toyota Technicals armed with a range of weapons (ZSU-23 twin flak cannon, point fifty HMG and recoiless rifle).
The Dare Sisters neutralise a threat to Dare Plane Delta.
Agents Blue and Red investigate a suspicious vehicle.
Sky Pirates advance, with their technical support.
The model is simple to assemble (body, four wheels, grill to protect the back of the cab plus the multi part Zsu-23) and looks the part. It could do with a set of wing mirrors and windscreen wipers.
I will be buying some more of these.

The Man From 2000
Tonight - The Man With The New Glasses.
New glasses this week, so I thought I would see if I can make a better job of painting miniatures.
So, I dug out the undercoated Man From 2000 figure from Crooked Dice and finished painting him.
I still have problems resolving down to the pupil size, but it is a notable improvement. Now I need to get some new paint brushes.
The body is painted Vallejo Buff, shaded with Vallejo English Uniform. Shoes are Vallejo Black Grey, hair Vallejo Desert Sand with a GW Gryphonne Sepia wash. Face is Vallejo Flesh Base shaded with GW Scorched brown.

Saurians
Well the good weather continues, but I did get a lot stuff undercoated and the wombles received a coat of Army Painter Ultramarine Blue.
Here are the nearly finished Crooked Dice Saurians:
The Saurian Head Sprue has three different heads, a very alien one,a more human one and a very alien one with a face shield. I used two Armed Minion bodies and the nearly ubiquitous MF3K body.
The Armed Minion's guns were modified by removing the end of the gun and pinning the dish from the Envoy's 'gun' on the end to give a more Sonic style weapon.
The fit of the feet to the base needs looking at.

Ultra Vanilla Marines
The weather over the weekend was not good, so I did not get a chance to undercoat anything, but it did mean that I managed to assemble a number of figures.
At Salute I picked up two sets of Forge World Womble Marines (10 figures) plus a pack of the box magazine bolt guns. They may be expensive compared to a Tactical Marine box set, but the box set only builds two Wombles.
The figures are nicely cast, there was a bit of flash, but being resin they clean up easily. The feed on the torso is on the socket joint on the bottom part, a nice sharp knife is required to remove the excess resin.
I pinned the arms to the torso and the torso to the legs with plastic rod.
Having assembled five Wombles, I was inspired to build a Captain to command them.
Starting with a Space Marine Commander, I used a chest piece from a Tactical Marine and a Womble head from the same source. I smoothed off the centre of the chest piece and added a etched brass Ultramarine logo. The right handed power sword from the assault marine set and a left handed pistol arm provided arms, the Storm Bolter replaced the pistol for that extra firepower. The commander backpack was topped with the Ultramarine icon. A set of pouches and a purity seal finished off the figure.
So I have a set of figures ready for spraying. It was not just Games Workshop figures over the weekend, two Crooked Dice armed minions were topped with Saurian head, and as you might note on the above picture, an Ainsty Mechanot was also assembled.
