Sarissa Compound Wall Set

 A while back Sarissa produced a secure compound set for Warlord for their lamentable Project-Z game. Sarissa later released it and the walls separately under their own branding. I bought the full compound set, but have only built (some) of the walls.

The kit comes as one of their about A4 sized packs. It builds seven wall sections and one section with a gate.

The wall sections are in laser cut card, as is the facing for the gates (though I used Slater's 7mm corrugated sheet for this build).

Here are the posts assembled and the base chamfered.

Assembled but unpainted. I did add some Milliput to fill in any gaps on the top of the wall where it is folded over.

Here are three wall sections and a gate section in use as a small compound. Empress US Army figures for scale. One of the other sections is at the back (and the other three sections are in various stages of assembly, which will quadruple the area of the compound).

The bases were chamfered with a half round file - the idea is that the posts are fitted to a concrete base.

The walls and base were sprayed with Plasticote Rust Effect paint to add some texture. This was then sprayed with Halfords grey spray primer, then a light dusting with Halfords black primer, a dusting again with the grey and a final almost zenithal  spray with Citadel Corax White.

The base was washed with Citadel Agrax Eartshade and the walls with Citadel Nuln Oil.

The gates were painted separately. Halfords grey spray primer, an "anti-zenithal" spray with Citadel Chaos Black followed by washes with Citadel Agrax Earthshade and Citadel Nuln Oil.

Great Escape Stargrave Gunslinger

 Great Escape Games released their multi-part multi-pose Western Gunslingers in June.

This was at the same time as the release of Stargrave and the plastic figures from North Star.

So here is a combination of the two.

This is the duster coated body with the advancing legs from the Gunslinger set combined with a head, arms and gun from the Stargrave Crew set.

Now I want to build a Chicago Wizard for hire using the same body.

Oathmark Human mini-army

 After the release (okay a bit after the release) of Oathmark, I pointed up some minimum point armies.

I had completed (assembled) an Elf Ranger army not long after that, okay it is four ranks of archers and some stragglers. I still have not finished painting them.

So now the first Human mini-army is assembled.

It comprises three ranks of Human Infantry, four ranks of Human Archers and two ranks of Human Spearmen.

Only one figure is currently painted, and that was painted towards the end of 2019.

Finishing painting may take some time.

Empress M422 "Mighty Mite" Light Vehicle

 I am not sure when I ordered the Empress M422, but the first photograph I have is at the very end of 2020.

It was a very easy kit to put together, the only issues I had were extraneous texture on the bonnet and some issues with the "grill" on the front. I did add a small tarpaulin rolled up on the bonnet (clear of the grill on the top) to reinforce the windscreen, a a bed roll in the load space to reinforce the rear door.

I undercoated it with Citadel Chaos Black and then removed the (still separate) wheels from the box I use as a base for spraying. The body (and various figures) were then sprayed with Humbrol 155 Olive Drab.

The wheel hubs were then hand painted with Humbrol Acrylic 155 Olive Drab.

The wheel arches and the underside were given some muddy texture with Citadel Stirland Mud texture paint, a bit of Citadel Typhus Corrosion for additional texture and plus a coat of Humbrol 29 Dark Earth to bring it all together. Citadel Agax Earthshade brought out the final texture.

The seats were painted with Humbrol 29 Dark Earth.

The decals were provided by Rubicon again, probably the wrong numbers (WW2 Jeep numbers)

And I managed to seriously mess up one of the USMC prefixes, so had to use one from another set which was more yellow and thicker.

That rear axle needs looking at.

Well, the interior. Well...

After trying some of the Humbrol Weathering powders on the Empress T-55, I thought I would add some interior weathering. I again used Army painter Dark Tone as the medium, but it sort of got out of hand...

It does look either like a shag pile carpet, or someone has been making mud pies in it.

You may ask "where is the driver and crew", to which I have to reply "somewhere in a box, undercoated". I will eventually find them and paint them.

 Survivors was a 1970's Post Apocalypse television programme created by Terry Nation.
