Bad Squiddo Games had a packet of guinea pigs at Warfare (and a Brown Bear).

They might make a good alternative RoboRodent or AutoMate for 7TV.

Land Rover

Crooked Dice have recently released a Land Rover to provide mobility to the Army.

The kit comprises five resin pieces, a one piece body and four wheels.

The wheels are currently held in place by blue tack, hence their "jaunty" angle.

The plan is to spray the wheels and body separately, the body getting a coat of PSC British Tank spray paint.

Empress Miniatures and Crooked Dice comparison

On the Skirmish Sangin forum there was a question about suitable figures for NGOs and European civilians.

Crooked Dice do a range of 'seventies film and television themed figures, with some more recent ones.

William Killen is one of the figures.

Here shown with an Empress British electronics specialist (converted medic) and an insurgent for scale.

This particular figure has had a G36 and a magazine added, but is the only one I have on a flat base.

Warlord Games/Italeri 1/56 scale Churchill tank - the sprues

These are the sprues for the recently released Warlord Games/Italeri 1/56 scale Churchill tank kit.

Assembly is awaiting the purchase of one or more Allied Stowage sets by Rubicon.

"Get off my Land!"

Miniature Figurines has a new range called "Winter of '79", figures of a world in crisis where the dead remained unburied and piles of rubbish filled the posh parts of London.

This is the first of the figures to reach "playable" form.

The figures are supplied with an integral base. I took a razor saw to them and removed it, glueing and pinning it to a 25mm base. The figures come in aback of two with four different heads.

I thought that the flat cap was a suitable head for this figure.

The figure is suitable for games such as 7TV as well as the "Winter of 79" rules.

Irregular with PK GPMG

This figure is based on the illustration of a South Ossetian Irregular in the Osprey publication "Elite 197: Russian Security and Paramilitary Forces since 1991".

The Empress Miniatures figure is painted to represent an irregular dressed in KLMK Berezka camouflage suit (and not his pyjamas).

The onesie is painted in Army Painter Army Green. The balaclava is base painted Citadel Death World Forest with camouflage pattern in Citadel Steel Legion Drab and Karak Stone. The back pack and pouches were base painted Citadel Castellan Green with a camouflage pattern of Citadel Rhinox Hide and Karak Stone. The flesh areas were painted with Vallejo Panzer Aces Flesh Base.

The green areas were shaded with Citadel Athenian Camoshade, flesh areas were shaded with Citadel Reikland Fleshshade.

The camouflage pattern on the suit was added last using Citadel Pallid Wytch Flesh.

Base is Vallejo Burnt Umber dry brushed with Citadel Terminatus Stone.
