Fidwog Crown Milwer

Previously I had shown the Fidwog box and assembled and painted the tractor.
Now here is the first painted Fidwog Crown Milwer, with Sketych Rifle.

Citadel Chaos Black spray undercoat.
Citadel Khorne Red coat.
Citadel Macragge Blue facings.
Citadel Dryad Bark webbing and boots.
Vallejo Black Grey metal work (gun, helmet, belt buckle and magazine).

Size comparison with a Crusader Rhyfler.
Fidwog infantry are suitably smaller.

The Secretarial Association provide secretarial services to many organisations in The City. In a place as lawless as this, Troubleshooting brings on a whole new meaning.

Battletech - Urbanmech Lance pack

Many years ago I started buying plastic kits from the anime series Super Dimension Fortress Macross. That was the start of a fascination with Mecha (my fascination with anime started with Marine Boy).

There are some examples elsewhere on the blog.

When FASA released Battledroids in 1984, with the distinctive image of a Destroid Tomahawk, it was a must buy.

I kept an interest in the game (rebranded as Battletech in 1985), buying a number of expansions over the years.

In recent years, the mechs have been released as pre-assembled resin models.

At Warfare 2023, I bought the Battlesuit Alpha game from Wiley Games, but did not have any suitable models (over the years the previous models have disappeared under the lead mountain range).

While in Orc's Nest in London I noticed the Battletech Urbanmech Lance. Now when they were initially released, Urbanmechs were a bit of a joke.

The box contains four different varieties of Urbanmech, and I thought they would make a good set of mechs to try Battlesuit Alpha.

The four mechs.

Operation Benevolent Prospector - Ayeland Marine.

Operation Benevolent Prospector is a spin-off from PLAN RED REIVER (2019), a theoretical planned response of the Army of Blueland to an attempted amphibious coup de main against that nation's capitol.

The story, all names, characters, companies, countries, organisations, and incidents relating to Operation Benevolent Prospector and PLAN RED REIVER are fictitious. No identification with actual persons (living or deceased), companies, countries, organisations, places, buildings, and products is intended or should be inferred.

There will be illustrations using commercially available models, these are used to illustrate aspects of the story but should not be used to infer any identification of characters, companies, countries, organisations, and incidents.

I will (after six years) get round to adding the Dramatis Personae page to the PLAN RED REIVER blog, but a quick recap.

While most of the Oceanic Alliance are supporting Blueland (ExLand and Zedland actually deploying forces on the ground in support), there has been some issues (which will be covered later) with another signatory to the alliance. This has led to some Ayeland forces based in Blueland becoming part of Blueland's 60th (Provisional) Royal Rifle Regiment.

One area of concern has been the uninvited deployment of two Ayeland Marine Reconnaissance Regiments  to another Oceanic Alliance state's territory.

Fynrydhad Tractor

So, the Fynrydhad Tractor is now painted (the driver is still to be painted).

The model was inverted and undercoated with Citadel Chaos Black.
It was then set right side up and sprayed with Army Painter Chaos Red.
This definitely appears to be a different colour to the acrylic paint.
The head lamp was painted wit Army Painter Stone Golem.
The track and the exhaust was painted with a mix of Vallejo Burnt Cadmium Red, Vallejo London Grey and Vallejo Black Grey.
The end of the exhaust was painted with a lighter shade by adding Army Painter Stone Golem.
The rail was painted with Vallejo Black Grey topped with Vallejo London Grey.
The track and exhaust were dry brushed with Citadel Ryza Rust. The exhaust was washed with Citadel Nuln Oil. The tracks were washed with Citdel Agrax Earthshade.

The turret can be traversed.

Quar Fidwogs

The latest plastic release for This Quar's War is the diminutive Quar of Fidwog, together with two Fynrydhad light Tractors.

The box contains two identical sprues. Each sprue has six infantry and one Fynrydhad Tractor complete with the crewman (a half figure).
There are Skeytch semi automatic rifles and a Bensa Support Rifle.
The first assembled Fynrydhad tractor.
Moulding limitations are apparent on the rivets on the side plate, and there is a mould line  on the plate behid it.

Comparison with a real world tankette/carrier - the Carden-Loyd Carrier. This is the Empress model.
You can definitely see the inspiration.
